Survey conducted for Pakistan and US general population by World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021 that around 42% of Pakistan’s population have mental health problems during lockdown in Covid19 pandemic whereas 52% of US population reported clinically significant depression due to financial problems in pandemic.
According to the latest research, significant rates of depression continued and even intensified from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic until 2021.
When Corona Virus pandemic hit in 2020, depression among adults in the United States tripled, rising from 8.5 percent before the epidemic to 27.8 percent. In 2021, the rate had risen to 32.8 percent, affecting one out of every three adults in the United States. This study published in journal “The Lancet Regional Health- Americas”.
Mental health sufferings due to COVID19 are widely observed. Lockdown during pandemic create chaos, fear, sense of insecurity and stress in societies. In Pakistan many people lost their jobs due to this they are very tensed and depressed. But now this is reduced due to decrease level of corona virus cases in Pakistan.
